Lois Arena to Present VRF Lessons Learned at the Passive House Happy Hour (Jan 20)

January 15, 2021

The Global Passive House Happy Hour is held Wednesdays at 4 pm (Pacific), 7 pm (Eastern), midnight (British), and 11 am (Thursdays, Australian Eastern). Join us 30 minutes early for pre-show networking and stick around following the main event for our After Hour!

This week we welcome Lois Arena, director of Passive House services at Steven Winter Associates, to present on VRF (variable refrigerant flow) lessons learned at the January 20 Global Passive House Happy Hour. If you heard the latest episode of the Passive House Podcast you already know Lois is a Passive House all-star who has had a hand in some of North America’s most significant Passive House buildings. This experience, particularly in the affordable multifamily realm, have given Lois a first-hand view of pitfalls to avoid in VRF system design. Budget pressures sometimes lead teams to opt for heating-only VRF applications. If not approached carefully, however, this poses overheating risk. Lois will share her insights about how to navigate this and other risks. You won’t want to miss it—join us on January 20 to hear Lois’ lessons learned.
