Michael Ingui of Baxt Ingui Architects to Kick off 1st Passive House Happy Hour of 2021 (Jan 6)

January 05, 2021

The Global Passive House Happy Hour is held Wednesdays at 4 pm (Pacific), 7 pm (Eastern), midnight (British), and 11 am (Thursdays, Australian Eastern). Join us 30 minutes early for pre-show networking and stick around following the main event for our After Hour!

From now to the day we decarbonize the global building stock, every year needs to be the “year of the deep energy retrofit”, so what better way to ring in the year 2021 than with a Passive House Plus retrofit of a historic brownstone in a New York City landmark district?

Baxt Ingui Architects principal and Passive House Accelerator founder Michael Ingui will present the project and will be joined by special guest Cory Herrala, Director of Preservation at the NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission. They’ll discuss the strategies employed to meet the rigorous performance standards of PH Plus certification while preserving the architectural integrity of this historic home. Michael will dive into Passive House details and materials that made the feat possible, including the moves necessary to make the project all-electric.

Don’t miss this opportunity to hear from both a Passive House designer and a Landmarks city official about Passive House retrofitting in historic districts. Join us on January 6!
