Passive House Canada is working with the Clean Air Partnership and the Canada Green Building Council to develop a Zero Emissions Buildings Exchange in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. This is made possible by a $40,000 grant from the Atmospheric Fund. Passive House Canada has said they also plan to seek input from unions, municipalities, educational institutions, NGOs, and others to form a comprehensive concept and business plan with broad support.
This plan will offer stakeholders guidance and specific pathways to improve building efficiencies and to reduce emissions. Similar initiatives spearheaded by groups like the Atmospheric Fund have been successful in other jurisdictions and have proven effective at allowing them to reach climate targets, particularly in British Columbia.
