If you live in New England, or hanker a beautiful October visit, don’t miss Passivhaus Maine’s annual Fall Forum on October 9th (evening) and 10th (all day) in Portland. The conference boasts a full roster of eminent Passive House speakers as well as a keynote address by Bill Ginn, Managing Director of GO Lab, a Maine-based company dedicated to developing and manufacturing environmentally responsible wood fiber insulation. Ginn, former Executive Vice-President of The Nature Conservancy’s NatureVest, will discuss how his history of commitment to the environment evolved into a commitment to creating sustainable building materials.

The theme for this year’s Fall Forum is “Passive House renovations large + small: the path to our 2050 carbon goals.” Happily, the event follows on the heels of Governor Janet Mills’ commitment, announced last week, that Maine will achieve carbon neutrality by 2045, five years ahead of schedule (if all goes as planned). Come to the Fall Forum to learn how this can be accomplished in existing buildings.
