Here’s a roundup of last week’s top Passive House tweets!

The UK Passivhaus Conference begins this week on November 4 and will continue each Wednesday for the rest of the month. Each week will have a unique focus. Nov 18, for example, will include programming on Net Zero and occupant health.

PHIUS staff will present a preview of PHIUS+2021 November 5.

iPHA and Passive House California have teamed up to host International Passive House Open Days that focuses on “The California Momentum” in the movement. The event will occur on Saturday, November 7 from 11 am—12:30 pm.

If you missed their webinar, “Building Passivhaus at Scale,” Zero Carbon Yorkshire has posted a recording and slides on their webpage.

The Building Awards are just one week away! On the shortlist in the Building Performance Award category is Willmott Dixon and Architype UK’s Harris Academy Sutton project, the largest Passivhaus Trust secondary school in the UK.

The City of Vancouver has released their Climate Emergency Action Plan. A large portion of this plan details new requirements for buildings because 54% of carbon pollution comes from burning natural gas for heating and water in buildings.

An increase in air pollution could arise due to an increase in the number of people working from home. If more residential units were built to the Passivhaus standard, this wouldn’t be a problem.

Massachusetts State Representative Tommy Vitolo toured Finch Cambridge this past week, highlighting its affordability and compliance with Passive House stanardards. “This must be the future of market & subsidized housing,” he tweeted.

New modular Passivhaus Plus homes by Beattie Passive are being built in Cardiff to help tackle homelessness.

Builds to Watch – City of York Council submitted plans for UK’s biggest zero carbon housing project this past week. They do so in collaboration with Mikhail Riches and Angela Koch.
