The Blindheim Passive House blends mass timber construction, pre-fabricated structural insulated panels (SIPs), generous glazing, and Passive House performance into a beautiful single family home in Vancouver, BC. The project is slated for Passive House Plus certification, thanks to a roof that incorporates German-made tempered glass tiles enclosing solar PV cells. Ian Robertson of ABBARCH Architecture dives into the details, challenges encountered, and lessons learned from building the Blindheim Passive House.
