While the Passive House Accelerator goes on break for August, non-profits Building Energy Exchange (BE-Ex) and The Passive House Network (PHN) present Passive House Summer School. The month-long slate of live and on-demand educational programming offers something for learners of all types. Those new to Passive House can dip their toes into the fundamentals of the high-performance building standard with BE-Ex’s short, introductory courses, while experienced professionals can dive deeper with PHN's certification-level trainings.
The Passive House Summer School includes a variety of free, one-hour courses on the basic principles of Passive House design and construction, providing a convenient entry point for everyone – from property owners, developers, and managers, to architects and engineers. The digestible courses explore how Passive House projects radically decrease energy demand while improving occupant comfort, health, and well-being. Learners are equipped with the foundational knowledge to improve their building's performance, get ahead of rapidly evolving building regulations, and spearhead the market.
Contractors, tradespeople, and anyone involved in construction should visit the recently launched Passive House Construction Primer. The one-hour training introduces practitioners to high-quality, time-tested construction techniques and key technical strategies for successful project implementation. The course helps prepare tradespeople to work on Passive House projects and stand out in the green construction workforce.
BE-Ex and PHN’s Passive House Summer School offers something for both seasoned industry professionals and those new to Passive House with a comprehensive learning pathway leading to professional certification under the international Passive House standard.
