Alissa Bucher, of Rogers Partners Architects, is an architect with experience in working on high profile building envelopes for the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC, and the Ronald Reagan
Federal Office Building, also in Washington. On September 29, Alissa will join the Global Passive House Showcase to present on the retrofit of a 20-story residential high rise in Manhattan. In anticipation of New York City’s ambitious Climate Mobilization Act, the brick façade 1960’s building will undergo recladding while also creating an architecturally distinctive update that will reposition the building for the coming climate changes. Alissa will discuss the real-world challenge, and strategies of upgrading the energy performance of existing, occupied buildings.
