What these exemplary projects have in common is that each Passive House building is a bold step by pioneering Passive House practitioners—architect, designer, builder, and client—to shrink the built environment’s carbon footprint. The beauty of Passive House is that the expertise, techniques, and materials needed to sharply reduce carbon emissions are available now. All that’s needed for California to attain its forward-thinking emissions reductions targets is a scaling up of these pioneers’ efforts.
