Ikon Windows Becomes Champion Sponsor of Passive House Accelerator

We are proud to announce that Brooklyn-based Ikon Windows has become a Champion Sponsor of the Passive House Accelerator. For more than a quarter century, Ikon has been manufacturing and designing high-quality European fenestration products for high performance and Passive House projects. Their extensive portfolio of uPVC, wood, aluminum, and steel window and door frames run the gamut from luxury to more affordable options and include both iconic tilt and turn windows as well as lift & slide doors.

Ikon’s products are custom-made in their manufacturing facilities in Europe, and then shipped directly to job sites throughout North America. This level of customization is ideal both for modernist projects as well as historic retrofit projects that require compliance with preservation commissions. Furthermore, Ikon’s products can reach u-values as low as 0.07, thereby allowing them to achieve any Passive House needs.

“We see high performance building, and Passive House in particular, as an important next step in the evolution of building practice and building quality for our customers,” said Adrian Dymarczyk, Principal at Ikon. “Passive House offers superior comfort, improved air quality, and significantly reduced energy usage, which translates into lower utility bills and healthier indoor environments. By partnering with Passive House Accelerator, we hope to reach more Passive House practitioners, but also help share the benefits of Passive House with more and more clients.”

“Partnering with Ikon felt like a natural fit,” said Passive House Accelerator director Zack Semke. “In addition to their extensive suite of windows and doors that can be used on Passive House projects, they are also part of the New York City high performance building scene like a lot of our members and supporters. We’re really looking forward to working with Ikon to find new ways to spread the word about Passive House and to cut building emissions in New York City and beyond.”
