The call for papers for the 29th International Passive House Conference is set to close at the end of the month. The IPHC will be held in the Austrian city of Innsbruck April 2-3, 2027, and will bring together Passive House practitioners from around the world who will share ex­per­i­en­ces, re­search res­ults, new tools, and in­nov­a­tions that advance building science and make homes healthier, more comfortable, and more efficient.

Those interested in submitting a proposal, should focus on one of the following topics:

Guidelines for Your Ab­stract Sub­mis­sion

Please pre­pare a text doc­u­ment of 3,000 char­ac­ters or less (in­clud­ing spaces). Dur­ing the sub­mis­sion pro­cess, you will be asked to copy and paste your text in­to a des­ig­nated dia­logue box. In the fol­low­ing step, you will have the op­por­tun­ity to up­load up to 3 pic­tures and/or graphs in a sep­ar­ate up­load field.

If your ab­stract deals with a build­ing pro­ject, please pay par­tic­u­lar at­ten­tion to the fol­low­ing as­pects if pos­sible:

• Did you face any chal­lenges (e.g.: Was it a her­it­age build­ing? Did you have to use in­teri­or in­su­la­tion?)? How did you over­come these chal­lenges?

• What were the les­sons learned? What would you do dif­fer­ently if you had to re-start the pro­ject?

• Did you im­ple­ment in­nov­at­ive strategies that were new in your pro­ject coun­try or that had not been ap­plied to your spe­cif­ic build­ing type be­fore?

• If avail­able, please provide the (ex­pec­ted) yearly run­ning costs and the (ex­pec­ted) in­vest­ment pay­back.

• If avail­able, please in­clude user feed­back.

• Please provide as much de­tail as pos­sible and avoid vague lan­guage or rhet­or­ic­al ques­tions!

If you are se­lec­ted as a speak­er, you will be asked to:

• Giv­e a 20- to 25-minute pre­sent­a­tion (1 speak­er and max. 1 co-speak­er; short group Q&A at the end; us­ing a Power­Point slideshow is re­com­men­ded)

• Sub­mit­ a 2-, 4- or max­im­um 6-page art­icle to the di­git­al con­fer­en­ce pro­ceed­ings (you choose the length)

• At­tend­ the con­fer­en­ce in Inns­bruck, Aus­tria (at a re­duced speak­er price)

The Passivhaus Institute in­tends to re­cord all ses­sions and share them as on de­mand videos with the con­fer­en­ce par­ti­cipants after the event. If you are a group of au­thors, please choose one speak­er and a maximum of one co-speak­er to attend the event.
