This project, currently under construction, includes recladding a 20 story residential high-rise in Manhattan. The original brick façade of this 1960’s building had significantly deteriorated over time. Rogers Partners was engaged to design a new, high performance facade system in anticipation of New York City’s ambitious Climate Mobilization Act, while also creating an architecturally distinctive update that will reposition the building. This presentation will discuss the real-world challenges of, and strategies for, upgrading the energy performance of existing, occupied buildings.
