Join us for our June edition of Passive House 101 video series, where we’ll explore the ins and outs of constructing Small Scale Residential projects. Whether you’re a builder, designer, or simply Passive House curious, this offers a clear and approachable breakdown of what it takes to plan, build, and enjoy high-performance homes on a smaller scale. From early concept and design choices to site preparation, we'll walk through what good planning looks like for residential success. Then we’ll roll up our sleeves and get into the nitty-gritty of construction. You'll gain insight into mechanical systems that support Passive House goals, including strategies for ventilation, heating and cooling, and dehumidification. We’ll wrap with commissioning tips and a look at how all that effort translates into everyday comfort. Presented by Dan Whitmore, a seasoned builder, trainer, and “passive obsessive,” this session is packed with practical guidance from someone who’s been there, and has built that. About the Presenter Dan Whitmore is a Seattle-based builder and educator with over 35 years in residential construction. A founding member of Red Door Sustainable Housing, Dan brings deep experience and a mission-driven approach to high-performance building. He's consulted on and built dozens of Passive House projects, taught over 1500 tradespeople through Phius programs, and currently serves on the boards of Phius and Passive House Northwest.
