Join us for an informative event focused on Scaling Passive House Low Carbon Homes with Microfactories, where we explore innovative design and prefab strategies leading to the creation of the Dorothy Road ADU Project. This two-bedroom, one-bathroom all-electric Phius-certified backyard cottage in Arlington, Massachusetts, stands as the town's first all-electric, 100% solar-powered affordable housing solution, developed in collaboration with HCA and funded by the Arlington Affordable Housing Trust Fund. This presentation explores essential technical and financing approaches crucial for scaling prefab, affordable Passive House solutions. Discover how a flexible building platform enables customization across various sites and housing typologies, making sustainable living more accessible. We are joined by Ankur Podder, who leads decarbonization systems and design integration at Reframe Systems. An MIT-trained architect specializing in embodied carbon and digital design-fabrication, Ankur is recognized as one of ENR's Top 20 Under 40 Young Professionals in 2023. He currently brings expertise from his three years at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where he collaborates with modular construction companies to enhance prefab processes and integrate solar+storage solutions.
