03122025 project of the month

In our March Project of the Month LIVE! event, we’ll explore New Frameworks’ innovative approach to building small homes and ADUs using structural straw-insulated panels (S-SIPs). These carbon-storing, all-electric, and concrete-free homes utilize local, bio-based, and mineral-based materials to create healthy interior air quality while achieving high-performance energy efficiency.

Participants will learn how to incorporate structural straw-insulated panels into their designs and understand the benefits of these materials in terms of sustainability and performance. You’ll gain insights into the construction of high-performance homes that store more carbon than they emit and deepen your understanding of climate-positive material specifications within a high-performance building context.

Ace McArleton, co-founder of New Frameworks, brings extensive experience in natural building methods and high-performance design. His work focuses on integrating sustainable practices and social justice into the building industry. Ace’s leadership in the development of structural straw panels and bio-based materials, along with his commitment to climate regeneration, has helped shape a more sustainable future for building practices.

This free presentation will take place on Wednesday, March 12th at 9am PT / 12pm ET and will be followed by a lively Q+A session. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from an industry leader and engage with the PHA community. See you there!
