About Greta Tjeltveit
Greta Tjeltveit studied architecture at the University of Washington and began her career in construction in 2015 as a crew lead with Habitat for Humanity Seattle/King County, overseeing volunteers and supporting sustainable building practices. She later transitioned into building performance and certification work, becoming a rater and verifier across multiple regional and national certification programs, including Phius, where she discovered her passion for building science.
Greta now works as a building science consultant at 4EA Building Science, focusing on the design, site review, and performance testing of building enclosures—often aligned with passive building concepts. She collaborates with project teams to develop simple, constructible solutions, performs site testing to verify performance, and has helped verify some of the first Phius-certified multifamily apartment buildings in Washington State. Greta continues to champion passive building throughout the region through her consulting work and service on the Passive House Northwest board.
