This month's Healthy Materials Cohort meetup is a two-part working session.
First, a conversation with Lindsey Love, owner of Regenerative Building Solutions, who brings over 20 years of experience across architecture and the trades, from tribal affordable housing and multi-family developments to high-end residential and institutional projects throughout the Rocky Mountain West. Lindsey specializes in removing the barriers to bio-based, carbon-storing materials in real-world projects, with hands-on fluency across conventional framing, CLT, SIPs, ICFs, hemp + lime, and straw bale. She'll share what's top of mind for her right now in healthy materials, from the solutions she's most excited about to the challenges that still need solving, and take your questions.
Then, cohort members will share progress on a web-based tool in development to help practitioners navigate the crowded landscape of materials resources. As this spring's Nature-Based Performance Lab found in its insight brief, the barrier to healthier and lower-carbon material choices is rarely a lack of information; it's knowing which of the many databases and guides actually answers your question. The tool aims to be that map. This is an early, in-progress look, and the discussion is where cohort feedback, including Lindsey's working-practitioner perspective, will help shape where it goes next.
