Event presented by Reimagine Buildings Collective
Wednesday, August 12th from 12pm-2pm eastern (Virtual)
The lab is moving up in scale! Session 2 turns to mid-size multifamily and light commercial buildings; the range where a heat pump strategy has to hold up across a lot more units and a lot more variety than a single-family retrofit.
Three case studies are lined up. One covers a low-income multifamily project that paired air-source heat pumps with heat pump water heaters, presented by a developer who started the project skeptical and came out the other side convinced. A second case study looks at heating and cooling in another mid-size building, still being finalized. A third turns to hydronics, with a geothermal or air-to-water system drawn from experience overseas.
This is a working lab, not a webinar. Practitioners present real heat pump solutions from their own projects, and lab members pressure-test each one against cost, code, constructability, and everything else that shows up on site.
We're running this session as an open lab. Any Collective member can drop in — no working-group signup, no prep. Come with a challenge from a current project, or come to listen.
What we refine here feeds a public Heat Pump Solutions Summit hosted by Passive House Accelerator this October, with support from NYSERDA.
