This is a working lab, not a webinar. Practitioners present real heat pump solutions from their own projects, and lab members pressure-test each one against cost, code, constructability, and everything else that shows up on site.
Session 1 covers small buildings: single-family homes and townhouses. Michael Ingui (Baxt Ingui Architects) presents a tandem heat pump water heater approach drawn from his all-electric townhouse retrofits in New York. Patty Chen (Patricia Chen Architecture) shares the heat pump solution behind her High Street House, a Passive House. Charlie Bushby (Ecoforest) brings a hydronic case study from Europe. And schedule permitting, Kristof Irwin (Positive Energy), who has been central to designing the lab, will open the hydronics conversation with some shared vocabulary before Charlie's case study.
We're running this session as an open lab. Any Collective member can drop in — no working-group signup, no prep. Come with a challenge from a current project, or come to listen.
