Projects Driving Performance: NYSERDA Early Design Support at Work

nyserda 5.25

Join us for a special PHA LIVE! event showcasing the real-world impact of NYSERDA’s Early Design Support program. This currently available RFP opportunity offers up to $150,000 in direct funding to Design Partners to explore early-stage clean, resilient, and carbon neutral design and public awareness in multifamily projects. Through a lightning-round presentation of findings from several completed and in process Early Design Phase studies, we'll explore the wide range of strategies, solutions and insights emerging from projects across New York State. This high-level overview will highlight how the program is helping design teams unlock performance potential early in the process.

To complement the broader perspective, we’ll take a closer look at River Commons, a project by Bernheimer Architecture. Brandon Pietras will share direct experience with the program and how the firm leveraged EDS to explore decarbonization pathways, apply the ILFI Zero Carbon framework, and push toward Passive House-adjacent goals. He’ll also preview what’s ahead for River Commons and provide a sneak peek at his upcoming deep dive during the upcoming Reimagine Buildings 25 Global conference.

We’ll also hear from Vera Voropaeva of NYSERDA, who will provide program context and insights into how NYSERDA programs are supporting climate-smart buildings from the earliest design stages.

This session is a must for architects, developers, and consultants looking to integrate high-performance strategies from the ground up.

This free presentation will take place on Wednesday, May 21st at 9am PT / 12pm ET and will be followed by a lively Q+A session. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from industry leaders and engage with the PHA community. See you there!
