Reimagine Buildings: Electrification

Are you ready to electrify everything?

Join us for Reimagine Buildings: Electrification

Online, January 24, 2025, 11:30am – 4:00pm (Eastern)

Join us to explore innovative strategies that building professionals can use to tackle climate change through electrification. Learn how to navigate challenges like domestic hot water systems and infrastructure upgrades, collaborate across disciplines to accelerate the transition, and discover emerging technologies and case studies that demonstrate improved performance and occupant health.

LEARN. We'll dive into the future of building electrification, tackling its biggest challenges and most complex issues.

CONNECT. Meet other building professionals who are stepping up to tackle change and engage in participatory sessions as you build the network you need to succeed.

GET INSPIRED. We’ve handpicked speakers to deliver actionable insights and foster valuable connections, helping you create buildings that truly make a difference.

EARN CREDITS. RB Electrificatiom program sessions will be eligible for AIA HSW Continuing Education credits in partnership with AIA New York State, as well as Phius and PHI credits. (Live attendance of sessions only.)

Enjoy all of this from the comfort of your home, shop, or office.

This event is proudly brought to you with the support of our Stakeholder Partner, The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).

Noon – 1:00pm (Eastern) | Part 1: The Big Picture

This session sets the stage for understanding the critical role of electrification in creating energy-efficient, climate-responsive buildings. We will explore how electrification fits into broader goals of energy efficiency, clean grids, and climate action, with insights from key experts in the field.

1:10pm – 2:10pm (Eastern) | Part 2: Case Studies

In this session, we dive into real-world case studies to explore how electrification is being successfully implemented in diverse building types and environments. Each case study follows a structured approach: Problem, Approach, Solution, Outcomes, and Lessons Learned, with a particular focus on addressing key electrification challenges such as heating/cooling, domestic hot water (DHW), cooking, and laundry. The featured projects demonstrate innovative solutions and provide valuable insights for designers, engineers, and sustainability professionals navigating the electrification transition.

2:20pm – 3:20pm (Eastern) | Part 3: System Solutions

This session will focus on narrowing the lens to common electrification challenges within residential and commercial buildings, specifically looking at hot water systems, kitchens, and laundry facilities. We'll explore both centralized and decentralized solutions, as well as unique strategies for addressing the most pressing issues related to these high-demand building systems. The session will provide actionable solutions, real-world examples, and valuable lessons for overcoming barriers to electrification in these essential building amenities.

3:20pm – 4:00pm (Eastern) | Biomaterials Roundtable
