Event presented by Reimagine Buildings Collective
Tuesday, October 14th from 12pm-1pm eastern (Virtual)
For this special episode of Reimagine Tuesdays, Michael Ingui interviews Dr. Wolfgang Feist, founder of the Passive House Institute and co-creator of its Passive House certification. Since the construction of the first Passive House in Darmstadt in 1991, Dr. Feist’s research and advocacy has inspired an international movement — from single-family homes to large multifamily developments, from schools to entire districts — all proving that rigorous energy performance can coexist with beauty, affordability, and human well-being.
A lively Q&A session will follow Dr. Feist's interview with Michael.
About Dr. Wolfgang Feist
A physicist by training, Feist has worked tirelessly on the improvement of energy efficiency in buildings since 1980, having developed and constructed the first Passive House in 1991. With the founding of the Passive House Institute in 1996, he created an independent research institution that aids architects, engineers and component manufacturers in the development of highly efficient buildings and components.
Feist was awarded the German Environmental Award in 2001 and the Göteborg International Environment Prize in 2003. In 2013, he was awarded the Honorary Fellowship by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA). In addition to the scientific direction of the Passive House Institute, Dr. Feist served as a professor of building physics at the University of Innsbruck until his retirement in 2019 and holds several honorary professorships.
