Project of the Month: Scaling Passive Homes with Microfactories
Join us for an informative event focused on Scaling Passive House Low Carbon Homes with Microfactories, where we will explore innovative design and prefab strategies that led to the creation of the Dorothy Road ADU Project. This two-bedroom, one-bathroom all-electric Phius certified backyard cottage in Arlington, Massachusetts, is the town's first all-electric, 100% solar-powered affordable housing solution, developed in collaboration with HCA and funded by the Arlington Affordable Housing Trust Fund. This presentation will explore essential technical and financing approaches crucial for scaling prefab, affordable Passive House solutions. Discover how a flexible building platform enables customization across various sites and housing typologies, making sustainable living more accessible.
We will be joined by Ankur Podder, who leads decarbonization systems and design integration at Reframe Systems. An MIT-trained architect specializing in embodied carbon and digital design-fabrication, Ankur was recognized as one of ENR's Top 20 Under 40 Young Professionals in 2023. Previously, he spent three years at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, where he collaborated with modular construction companies to enhance prefab processes and integrate solar+storage solutions.
This free presentation will take place on Wednesday, November 6thth at 9am PT / 12pm ET and will be followed by a lively Q+A session. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from industry leaders and engage with the PHA community. See you there!
