Scaling Passive House for a Resilient Future

pha live june 10 2026

Over the past three decades, the Passive House standard has demonstrated that ultra-low energy buildings can deliver exceptional comfort, resilience, and operational stability across climates and building types. Thousands of certified projects worldwide provide conclusive evidence of technical feasibility and long-term performance of Passive Houses.

Yet despite this success, Passive House is still widely perceived as an exceptional achievement, rather than an expected baseline. In many markets, it remains categorized as a premium option or specialist pursuit, not an integral component of resilient buildings.

This disconnect reveals an important reality: the primary barriers to scaling Passive House today lie in cultural perception and fragmented messaging, not technical challenges. Moving from niche adoption to industry standard requires a shared framework for how Passive House buildings are understood, valued, financed, and communicated.

This presentation examines that transition through two lenses: first, practical lessons learned scaling Passive House in my own practice; and second, broader strategies that can be applied across building typologies, firm size, and geographic location.

This free presentation will take place on Wednesday, June 10th at 9am PT / 12pm ET and will be followed by a lively Q+A session. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from an industry leader and engage with the PHA community. More details to come!
