Description

Durra Panel USA is introducing Durra Panel, a globally proven wall and ceiling system, to the U.S. market at a time when the construction industry is rapidly shifting toward faster, higher-performing, and more sustainable building solutions.

Manufactured from reclaimed wheat straw, Durra Panel is a high-performance interior wall and ceiling system engineered to replace traditional drywall assemblies and conventional ceiling construction. The system delivers impact resistance up to ten times greater than standard drywall while providing superior acoustic performance, fire resistance, and thermal insulation. By utilizing an agricultural byproduct that would otherwise be burned and release carbon into the atmosphere, Durra Panel significantly reduces embodied carbon and contributes to healthier, more resilient buildings.

Originally developed and commercialized in Australia, Durra Panel has been successfully used across a wide range of projects and is now available in the U.S. market through Durra Panel USA. As building owners, architects, and developers face increasing pressure to reduce carbon emissions and meet sustainability goals, Durra Panel offers a biogenic, carbon-sequestering alternative to conventional interior construction materials. Its thermal performance makes it well suited for high-performance building standards, including Passive House and other low-energy building approaches.

Durra Panel is currently being supplied into the U.S. market and specified across residential, commercial, institutional, and industrial projects, with domestic manufacturing planned for 2027.

By transforming agricultural waste into high-performance building materials, Durra Panel USA is demonstrating how the next generation of construction products can simultaneously improve building performance, reduce environmental impact, and store carbon for decades within the built environment.
