New Frameworks

Description

Founded in 2006, New Frameworks is a multi-racial, immigrant-, women-, queer-, and trans-owned worker cooperative committed to a kinder sort of building. The materials we use — local, organic wheat straw (the grains of which are baked into delicious bread in Vermont bakeries), native wood from small mills, and non-toxic lime plasters — place human and ecosystem health at the center of our work. Our ecologically minded building practices and comprehensive, full-service systems design make our buildings at home on earth while providing state-of-the-art comfort and efficiency for the people who rely on them. We scale up these practices through our Seed Program, training small manufacturers who go on to form a decentralized, networked producers' cooperative called the Seed Collaborative. New Frameworks practices high-performance natural building to construct climate justice and regeneration in our region and beyond.
