Kinderhaus in Olching

Sustainability was a major focus for this project, and the materials chosen reflect that. As such, the use of regionally produced building products, especially in timber construction was implemented heavily in the design.

The use of wood-based materials on the inside, some of which are accentuated by colour, also creates an attractive atmosphere for the users. Which in this case are the children, parents, and teachers of the Kindergarten.

The thermally insulated outer walls are load-bearing and non-load-bearing in alternation. The outer cladding consists of an untreated Douglas fir panelling.

All windows are triple glazed and consist of a passive house - certified wood construction. An inexpensive manually operated sun protection system offers protection against overheating in summer
