Henson Architecture advances the field of preservation through a hands-on approach to craftsmanship and traditional building practices as demonstrated in our award-winning projects. In response to the global climate crisis and emerging technologies, Henson is transforming the practice of retrofitting existing and historic buildings as a means towards carbon reduction. Our Passive House projects include EnerPHit certified retrofits of 19th century townhouses and a Passive House retrofit of a single apartment in a multifamily building as a repeatable model. Another focus of our firm is the interrelationship of New York City’s Façade Inspection Safety Program and Local Law 97.
