Sara A. Bayer, associate principal and direction of sustainability at Magnusson architecture, showcased the NYSERDA Buildings of Excellence Round 1 winner Rheingold Senior Residences. Rheingold Senior is an affordable housing project beginning construction this fall. The senior living development seeks to balance costs, embodied carbon, comfort, and health considerations. The design optimizes these elements by providing high-quality housing and minimizing greenhouse gas emissions.
Sara leads Magnusson’s efforts to incorporate Passive House strategies and carbon reduction methods across all their work.
