New Jersey's First Zero Energy Home is Expected to be Passive House Certified

New Jersey's First Zero Energy Home is Expected to be Passive House Certified

New Jersey’s first “Zero Energy” home is expected to come to the small town of Barnegat thanks to a partnership between Walters Homes and Tiffany Rolfing of Idea Broker. The 2,000-square-foot showcase home, known as “Nova,” is expected to be completed in May and will be open for viewing until it is eventually sold.

The home will come equipped with solar panels and has been designed to meet both LEED-Platinum and PHIUS standards. It is estimated to cost only 10% more than a home built using standard construction methods.

New Jersey’s own Sandpaper has the full story.
