1. TUE: Philly Green Roof Solar Tour
Join Ron Celentano as he shares the technical, technique, and technology of a creative rooftop solar array in Philadelphia. On the November 16 episode of Construction Tech Tuesday, Ron will talk through the orientation, details, and site management of some of the most high profile Passive House projects in the United States. Ron has worked on solar for Onion Flat’s Passive House buildings in Philadelphia including Front Flats, Stable Flats, Belfield, and Capital Flats. Passive House design is becoming the new normal in some Spanish regions like Zaragoza, where nowadays it is common for construction agents to use the term “Passive House quality” to advertise their products. On Wednesday, November 17, Ángel Sánchez and Clara Lorente join us from the Spanish firm Grupo Lobe to share their journey to 1,000+ units of Passive Housing. 3. THU: Building Performance Interactive Episode 2
The second episode of our UK/Ireland-based Building Performance Interactive, "MMC - Offsite TF Construction from Start to Finish" will address modern methods of construction (MMC) and the significant role it plays in maximizing building performance and reducing carbon footprint, for more sustainable developments.
To illustrate this point, cohosts Mike Jacob, Ben Adam-Smith and Hugh Whiriskey will visit the Ktf Keenan Timber Frame factory. John Keenan and Lawrence Taylor of Ktf will talk about the design, and the manufacturing process of most popular timber frame systems, providing a real perspective on how standardised designs can be incorporated into projects to achieve scale.
