Toronto Design Review panel Seeks to Refine Facade of Passive House Pilot Program
As we mentioned in April, Canada’s Globe and Mail is following a pilot program in Toronto that involves the construction of several Passive House buildings in the city’s Alexandra Park. Overall, the program will see the construction of 21 affordable townhouses for social housing. Designed by Diamond Schmitt Architects, Inc., the homes will be managed by the Toronto Community Housing and will represent the first multifamily residential development to build to the Passive House standard.
The second installment in the series was released late last week. It focuses on the back-and-forth between the design team and Toronto Community Housing’s design review panel, as well as a conversation about the difference between Passive House and LEED standards.
