Buildings of Excellence Awards Ceremony This Tuesday (March 21)

Winning projects for Round Three of the Buildings of Excellence Competition Awards will be announced this Tuesday, March 21. The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s (NYSERDA) exciting $48+ million initiative to advance clean and resilient buildings that are profitable, beautiful, and affordable buildings for all New Yorkers. These awards support the state’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 85% by 2050 and advance Governor Kathy Hochul’s goal to achieve two million climate-friendly homes by 2030.

The event will take place at Center for Architecture, AIA New York and Passive House Accelerator will be live streaming the event. Register now for the event.

Many of the winners from previous rounds incorporate passive design and a significant number are pursuing Passive House certification, thereby helping to spread awareness and accelerate the adoption of Passive House standards. Winners from the first two rounds of the Buildings of Excellence Competition have been featured as part of Passive House Accelerator LIVE! (like Heather McKinstry's recent talk about 425 Grand Concourse) and within the pages of Passive House Accelerator magazine.
