WED: Offsite Construction Methods: Using Prefabricated Panels

03 22 23 PHA Live CT rectangle 2

9am Vancouver / 12 noon New York /  5pm London / 6pm Darmstadt

Offsite construction, also known as prefabricated or modular, has been gaining popularity in British Columbia as a way to improve efficiency and reduce costs. One of the most popular offsite construction methods is the use of prefabricated panels, which can be assembled on site to construct various building types. Chris Hill (BCollective) will join our Construction Tech session to explore the current state of offsite construction in BC, focusing on the use of prefabricated panels and how they can be used to achieve Passive House standard and reduce embodied carbon emissions. We will also examine the potential benefits and challenges of offsite, with an open sourced system called BOSS (Building Offsite Sustainable Systems). Get the Zoom link

WED: Industrialized Retrofit Summit: Moving from Concept to Construction

We are excited about the upcoming programming we are producing in partnership with Phius to support their upcoming Retrofit Summit 2023. We will be joined by four retrofit experts who will share their collective experience creating solutions to upgrade existing buildings and scale for greater production in the future.

We will be joined by moderator Mary James (Passive House Accelerator) and Guest Host, James Ortega (Phius), as well as the following presenters: Aurimas Sabulis - Dextall, Dr. Avideh Zakhor - Signetron, Lucas Toffoli - RMI, Tom King - TKF.

And, in true Passive House Accelerator style, we’ll have a lively Q&A session after the presentations. Register for the PHA event | Register for the Phius event
